Fairmont Pacific Rim – Day at the Spa

If you’ve ever stepped into the Fairmont Pacific Rim hotel in Vancouver, you’ll know that it’s a beautiful space with expansive ceilings and luxury finishes. I had heard great things about their in-house spa Willow Stream, and finally got the chance to try it for myself with their Day at the Spa package.

As outlined on their spa treatment menu:

Day at the Spa

4 hours

Get a week’s worth of pampering in one day with a Custom Cleanse Facial, Relaxation – Light Pressure massage, Reviving Manicure and Reviving Pedicure.

This journey includes lunch, plus full spa and fitness-centre access.

I started off by checking into the front desk, and then got myself situated by dropping off my personal belongings in the locker room and changing into one of their plush white day robes.

While I waited for my first treatment, I was brought into a quiet lounge area with cucumber infused water and light refreshments.

The balcony just outside the lounge had a great view of Coal Harbor, and a hot tub for soaking. I opted to take in the sun, and relaxed on one of their canopied day beds.

When it came time for my facial, I was led back indoors into one of the treatment rooms. My technician started off with a black/whitehead extraction. For those who are not familiar, be warned that the procedure can be quite uncomfortable. It feels as though someone is pinching your skin, but it’s over pretty quick and this is the absolute best way to get rid of pesky blackheads in an instant. She then applied a cooling gel to massage deeply into the tissue.

For my included lunch, I chose the bento box with fruit. Everything was carefully prepared, and tasted very fresh.

My body felt incredibly rejuvenated after the light pressure massage, and I took a quick shower before heading off to my mani/pedi.

With freshly painted nails, I felt truly pampered as my day at Willow Stream Spa drew to an end. I would definitely recommend it to someone looking for an extra luxurious treat or an indulgent gift for a special someone. The service was impeccable, and the facilities are very elegant.
